On the Ninth Day of a Feminine Christmas

I’m thrilled to begin a new year tomorrow.  Just like William Powell and Myrna Loy seem to be, as evidenced by their New Year’s Eve kiss in the image above.

But I am a realist if nothing, and challenging times still lay ahead.  I am working hard to keep my mother safe, sometimes against her feisty will.  And I am praying for others that I love.  Every night, I quietly list my fears out one by one.  Let me know if you know someone who you would like to be added to my prayers.

As for today, I am about to watch the marvelous New Year’s movie, Made For Each Other, while drinking lots of tea.  The film stars Carole Lombard and my very favorite gentleman actor, Jimmy Stewart, and chronicles a darling couple who have their own share of woes.

Watching John and Jane Mason deal with sorrow is uplifting because in the end, love wins.  So Dear Readers, keep your eyes on the prize this New Year’s Eve and trust love.

I kiss you…

Thank you for this series and for your feminine insistence on all things pretty, fragrant, soft and soul-soothing. Thank you Other Karen for the Bible verse. I’m going to write that on my journal entry for today, the last day of 2020, and tomorrow on the first day of 2021. We women are resilient, persistent, and especially as a cohort, able to manage ourselves in choosing beauty, health and wellbeing by making daily quality choices. I’m going to look for this movie as I just promised myself this morning that instead of hurrying around with my list of things to do to “tidy up” and “prepare” for a new year, I’m going to be kind to myself and rest, relax and restore my tired soul. Your blog has always added so much to my experience of life. Thank you again and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I agree and pray right along with you for a new year that offers us some fresh hope. There’s a beautiful Bible verse that seems just the one for this coming year: Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom 15:13)….this year, one of the key words for our weary hearts is certainly HOPE. Blessings on your New Year’s Eve, my friend!
